14.5” Live Oak Wand, Curved
(Fairly Rigid)
This wand is fashioned from Live Oak timber with a natural curved profile and a live-edge grip.
This one has a profile that is curved through grip and inner beam, but then straightens out and points forward. The live-edge grip has been carefully peeled to preserve the surface just under the bark, so you can still feel the grain. There are a few small knot lumps at the hilt, and a large branch knot on the underside, that’s been left proud and rounded smooth. Then an inconspicuous taper leads to a straight slender beam. The radial grain lines which run from end to end disguise the careful taper, making it look like it grew that way.
Live Oak has a beige color with dark gold grain lines, and dark heartwood in the knots.
The wand has also been burnished to further toughen and polish the surface.
Finish is lacquer.
This is a strong wand with a nice organic feel in the hand.

This wand is amazing. So smooth and perfectly polished. The knotted wood literally radiates magic. Some wands are so nice you just want to hold them all day and put them under your pillow at night. 😉

Wow. This is the kind of craftsmanship that should set the bar for all other artisans. It is perfect in its simplicity. Job well done. And the follow up service, has completely spoiled me. With this shop, be confident in your purchase. It will be everything you thought it to be.

I have good experience with this longbow, however it is not the same and will be different or difficult to string if you are used to a more modern material bows(Modern material bends easier)
The listing says 52lb with 22 inch draw length. The draw length I agree but the pull is definitly leaning heavy. Maybe 52lb pull on a traditional wooden bow made of osage spaling is different and harder to bend than lets say traditional wood like english yew? I cannot say for sure since I have no experience.
Shoot has a satisfying sound, the bow string included is older style with a self tighten knot. The arrows I shot is a dummy arrow not a real one but it still felt very nice.
Highly recommanded if you are into traditional long bow.
