This is a delicately hand-embroidered altar or divination cloth. It has the triple moon symbol at the center, embellished with graceful botanical motifs. It is *entirely hand-stitched* – took more than 20 hours to complete 🙂
This is perfect for a Wicca or green witch altar, or for a shrine full of natural treasures. Can be used as a tarot or divination cloth as well. The dark, winter grey linen base was embroidered using plum, burgundy, lavander, and straw-colored threads which complement it beautifully.
No two of our cloths are exactly alike – each design is individually drawn on the fabric and then embroidered using a mix of techniques, which in this project include the backstitch, stem stitch, fishbone stitch and palestrina stitch.
Size: 24.8 x 17 in (63 x 43 cm)
All-natural materials: our cloths are 100% linen and threads are all high quality and 100% cotton.
Why linen?
Linen has been valued since ancient times for its remarkable qualities, often considered a fabric with healing and sacred properties. Studies, such as a 2003 one by Dr. Heidi Yellen, have explored how different materials interact with the body’s natural electromagnetic field. Linen stands out with an impressive resonance of 5000 Hz—while synthetic materials such as polyester and nylon resonate at just 15 hz. This high frequency is believed to bring positive energy, aligning beautifully with the intention and mindfulness of your altar and Tarot practices.
Wash/Care instructions: Linen is pretty sturdy, and so are cotton threads. High temperatures are well tolerated. If machine washing, place the cloth inside a mesh laundry bag to protect the embroidery.
Note that linen fabric has a natural skewness to it. We iron and straighten the cloth before embroidering, but a bit of the skewness always remains.
