These Fans are used for many purposes. They are great for Smudging (burning medicines, sage, sweetgrass etc) and blowing /moving the smoke over someone/thing to be blessed or cleansed.

Winged Ones. The Story.

It was a matter of time before these ‘things’ lay on my workshop desk. From my own experience.. I have been to ceremonies and spiritual practices where this ‘thing’, or more accurately a tool .. has been used to “wiped off” bad energy. Instantly breathing becomes easier and a bright smile settles on my face when I want to close my eyes and let this ritual continue for a long, long time .. like a massage, only that it is more spiritual though physically strong, so I don’t feel indifference or scepticism in it. For me, it has the power of holiness.

For some, it sounds like charlatan talk, for others it resonates quite strongly. Reaching out to all audiences, and there is no desire to do so, is just accompanied by the belief that we will find in life those who need to find us, too, same with our creations.

I really do not know if anyone can use such tools, not for me to judge, I do not really dare to use it, but their production has just been calling me for some time. And I have discovered a great deal of pleasure mixed with responsibility. I have spent many days with them. Not so much in terms of work as it is in terms of touch and observation. Warm and good energy installation.

About the materials. Almost everything is a personal find (feathers, driftwood, amber), stored for a long time, probably a serious opportunity to use. When it comes to the value of materials, they are extremely valuable to us, because each element has a story. Each and every special feather, stick or amber made us very happy – like kids when we found it. So I share our happiness with you in this work of art. Purchasing raw materials does not create so much value for me in production because it becomes something more of a “product” than a creation.

And in the process.. I have mixed several work technique into one. It reminded me very much so of the production of dreamcatchers and incense burners, maybe step by step it becomes our stylistic, recognizable pattern – sea polished wood, inlaid amber, pyrography..

What are these tools called? “Well, you know, that kind of shameful whisk.” “Well kind of like a fan.” “The wing of the bird is so waving at the burning sage or Palo santo.” English variants – smudge fan, shamanic wing. This tool without a human is just a tuft of feathers on a wood. And the man himself will find the name of his tool;)
I call them “holy palms.” And that’s a new passion for me.
