Overview
An Altar Chalice is a special cup, a vessel for special occasions. This ceremonial goblet has an impressed design of the Horned God, Cernunnos on one side, and a pentacle in an iron wash on the bowl, and a leaf design under each. Between these on the bowl is an image of the Goddess and God. The base has a brown band with the rune Berkana (Birch tree) scratched through. The shape shape of this rune implies a stylized female form and a nurturing protection. The base has a angles textured raised finger ridge. This chalice has an Alfred matte glaze, which shows the iron spots of reduction flame firing. Lined with the same smooth glaze it is easy to clean and great for your table or your altar.
This is a perfect size for at least six to ten people in ceremony or a toast at 7 inches tall, by 4 inches wide at the base. Holds 14 ounces. It is thrown in two pieces and joined, light and comfortable in the hand. This one has an exceptionally elegant form!
