Here is a religious nicho box/diorama shadowbox from Mexico featuring the Virgen de Guadalupe.
The artwork depicts a Virgin Mary enveloped in rays and with a cherub at her feet; just as the likeness that appeared on Juan Diego’s tilma in 1531 in Mexico. The Virgin of Guadalupe is the patron saint of Mexico, the Americas, and the Philippines.
The nicho is composed of religious print cutouts, sequins, and glitter. It is just pure delightful and charming: a true piece of folk art!
The box measures 7 wide, 1” deep, and 6.75” tall. It can be displayed hanging as it already has hardware, or displayed on a tabletop.
